Appointment Information

Urgent Referrals

Although we aim to see all new referrals promptly, there may be situations where the clinics are busy. If your case is urgent, please mention this to our administrative staff, who will get your referral triaged by the relevant orthopaedic surgeon.

What should I bring to my initial appointment?

  • Referral from your general practitioner or specialist

  • List of current medications

  • Medicare card

  • Private health insurance membership card

  • TAC or WorkCover details

    • Claim number

  • Healthcare card or DVA card

  • Imaging reports

Fees & Billing

Consultation fees will be paid by cash, EFTPOS or credit card (Visa or MasterCard) during your appointment. If you are registered with Medicare, you can obtain a rebate for part of your consultation fee. You will require a valid referral from a medical practitioner to receive your rebate. Please bring this referral with you to your appointment.

TAC & Workplace Injuries

We assess patients with WorkSafe and TAC injuries and will provide you with a receipt following your consultation so you can claim from the involved insurance party. If our specialists decide surgery is necessary, we will need to obtain written approval from WorkSafe or TAC before proceeding.

Uninsured patients

Our specialists can still assess your problem and provide management advice if you do not have private health insurance. If surgery is required, we can help refer you to a public hospital. In the interests of fairness, surgeons cannot directly book your surgery on the public waiting list from their private consulting rooms. If you want to see our specialists in a public hospital, you can get your general practitioner to refer you directly to their public clinic.
